Boyd County, Kentucky
Over the weekend, we visited our friend Tony and took a tour of his property. If he had a few more acres, many would call it a mini-farm. It’s an interesting place to walk around and photograph as he raises raspberries, blueberries, and bees amongst a growing number of interesting structures and inventions that include a homemade irrigation system. I photographed the above scene as we walked up the grassy trail to the ridge-top blueberry patch. As we walked up the trail, the sound of the 17 year Cicadas were deafening, certainly the loudest that I’ve heard anywhere. They were swarming among the trees to each side of the trail.
