After some rain and blazing hot weather, we\’re back to coolness again. We put out about half the garden: all the tomatoes, peppers, and a couple rows of corn and should have the rest out this week. The onion thieves will suffer this year, though. When cleaning out some things, I ran across a note with the below lines written on it. I\’ve found out it is an extraction of some lines from an essay by Wendell Berry. I don\’t have the book to double check the accuracy but I like it. I wonder if Mr. Berry\’s corn is up yet.
we have come to our real work.
and that when we no longer know which way to go,
we have come to our real journey.
The mind that is not baffled is not employed.
The impeded stream is the one that sings.
