We bought back our first home after being gone for 20 years, a lot of it has changed and we had some work done before moving into it.  But still is more like home than our immediate past home.  For documenting some of the remodeling, I brought the Canon SL1 with the 10-22mm lens out of retirement and found I still love it even with the wide angle distortion.  Considering what it does, the low cost, and the size- this needs to go down in history as a classic camera as well as the pancake lenses that go well with it.

Moving Day

Moving Day

With the weather changing by the hour this season, any sort of activity that needs fair weather would just be a roll of the dice.  So, no surprise to find that moving day turns up with weather in which I have to even salt down the driveway to prevent injury.  But it is done, finally.

I have a few pictures to catch up with.

Bish Runyon gave a nice presentation to the camera club tonight.  Along with a Lightroom demonstration, Bish gave a presentation that discussed iconic photographs and photographers.  We had a nice crowd and very good meeting.

at the fancy Taco Bell

at the fancy Taco Bell

Eating outside at the what we call the fancy Taco Bell, we’ve experienced all the changing seasons many times.  Usually at the same table until later in the year when the cold and the low lying evening sun makes us retreat to one of the warmer tables on the edge of the dining area.  It’s a nice place to go to, even in spite of the fast food fare, usually it’s vacant and you could trick yourself in thinking that you were somewhere special, perhaps at a nice dining area hidden away where nobody has found it yet.   Won’t be long until the lady is all wrapped up for winter, or maybe carted away for storage again.

Firken Fest 2017

We had a craft beer festival in town recently, seemed to be very well attended, was interesting and a lot of fun.  But where in the world did they get that name?

Surly fat bike in the city

Surly fat bike in the city

I bought this fat tired bike to ride trails after having a pretty bad wreck with the other bike.  Now I find I really love riding it about town, you get a pretty good workout and all the citizens and drivers wave and give you respect that you don’t always get when you are sharing the road with folks in a hurry to get to Walmart.
