Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 15, 2026

At 4x6photo.com, your privacy is our absolute priority. We have designed our web application with a "zero server-side processing" architecture to guarantee that your personal photos remain private. This policy outlines how we handle data and what anonymous analytics we collect.

1. Your Photos Never Leave Your Device

Unlike traditional image editing web services, we do not upload, transmit, or store your photographs on any external servers.

  • All cropping, resizing, and rotation operations are executed directly inside your web browser using HTML5 Canvas and local Web Workers.
  • HEIC-to-JPEG conversion (for Apple devices) is executed entirely client-side using your browser's processing power.
  • The final cropped photo is saved directly to your local file system or downloads folder. No server sees or copies your family photographs.

2. Information We Collect Automatically

While we do not collect photo files, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to gather anonymous, aggregated website usage statistics. This helps us optimize site performance, detect bugs, and improve user layout.

The information collected may include:

  • Browser type, device classification (mobile, tablet, desktop), screen dimensions, and operating system.
  • Anonymized IP addresses (IP masking is enabled by default).
  • Aggregated user activities, such as page views, button clicks (e.g., clicking "Download printable sheet"), and average session duration.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Google Analytics uses "cookies"—small text files stored on your computer—to track anonymous user behavior. You can refuse the use of cookies by adjusting your browser settings, or by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Compliance

For users residing in the European Economic Area (EEA), we act as a Data Controller only for anonymous aggregated telemetry. Since we do not collect personal photos, email addresses, names, or accounts:

  • There is no personal identifier data to review, update, delete, or restrict.
  • Our use of anonymous telemetry is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining and securing our free tools.

5. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Compliance

In accordance with the CCPA:

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal consumer information (since we do not collect any).
  • We do not store phone camera libraries or digital print files.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect technical upgrades or changes in legal compliance. Any changes will be updated on this page with an adjusted "Last Updated" timestamp.
